The Russian pharmaceutical market: the 1st quarter of 2010

According to DSM Group in the Ist quarter of 2010 as compared to the same period of 2009 the Russian pharmaceutical market went down 4% in rubles equivalent. It increased 3% in euro. In dollars the growth amounted to 10%. As a result the size of the pharmaceutical market (in end consumer prices VAT included) in the Ist quarter of 2010 amounted to 113 billion rubles (3.8 billion dollars, 2.7 billion euro). In physical terms the volume of sales of medications decreased 1% (as compared with the same period of the previous year) and amounted to 1.1 billion of packs.
