Russian company leads TOP drug manufacturers. Pharmstandard becomes the first in February 2007.

According to DSM Group, Pharmstandard became the leading company by pharmacy sales in Russia, with 5.25% market share in February 2007. Russian company has been leader for the first time. Its sales value on the commercial market amounted to $22.8 mln in February 2007.
Pharmstandard’s leading position was due to Arbidol sales; Arbidol carried almost half of gain to the company. This was seasonal sales peak. Arbidol is the first in the TOP drug brands in 2006 as well.
“It is not obvious that Pharmstandard will be the first by pharmacy sales value in 2007. — Alexander Kuzin, General Director of DSM Group says. — Former leaders, Novartis and Sanofi-Aventis, have more balanced product basket, their brands’ sales are not strongly seasonal. They are constant leaders. It depends, if Pharmstandard will buy any other brands giving such a grate sales increase in other seasons as Arbidol gave”.
